California Vacation

Well, we made it! This year we took our vacation in California. We went to San Francisco, Napa, Monterey and Carmel. There is so much to say, but how do I sum it all up?

Leah did great on all of our flights, even through American Airlines trying to ruin our trip home by canceling our flight and re-routing us. Instead of getting home at 6PM yesterday, we got home at 1AM. Nice.

We went to the San Francisco Zoo with Joe's mom. His parents watched Leah for us on Tuesday while we went to Napa. The three of them really enjoyed their time together, and Joe and I enjoyed our adult day out.

In Monterey we went to the aquarium and it seemed like Leah liked the fish. I think she got more out of the aquarium than the zoo - fish move more. We also made a stop at Carmel By-the Sea to check out the beach. It was too chilly for swimsuits or swimming, but Leah was able to check out the sea and sand. And of course, we had to stop and do the touristy stuff at the wharf.

That is a quick summary of the trip, but be sure to check out our pictures on Picasa.

Quake '08

Yes, we felt the earthquake this morning. Yes, we are ok. We didn't get a chance to check the basement before we left for work, but I am sure it is ok.

We hope everyone else is ok as well!

Fast trip to Chicago

This weekend we made a quick trip up to Chicago to see Crissie, Steve, Katie and Anna. It was great to see them and have the girls together. Saturday we went to the Children's Museum.

The kids had a lot of fun there and they actually had some things for the little girls.
For those of you who don't know Katie is two and Anna is 11 months, but thinks she's as old and as big as Katie. When Anna first saw Leah she acted like Leah was a baby doll, giving her kisses, snuggling with her and trying to pick her up. It was really funny to watch. They also had fun sitting next to each other at lunch, sticking their fingers in the other one's mouth and talking.

Ignore Leah's outfit in the pictures, she got sweet potatoes all over herself at lunch so we had to improvise.

Addicted

I have an addiction. And the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?

I can't stop buying clothes for Leah. I can find any excuse, but it is usually, "Not everyone gets to have a little girl, so I should dress her up." My spring fever has also fueled my shopping addiction, I am growing tired of dressing Leah in the few warm things that still fit her. And last summer I did not have many outfits for her because she was so tiny, she spent most of the time in onesies so this is the first summer of outfits & dresses for us!

It has almost become like she is my new Cabbage Patch doll, but so much better! And this time around, I don't have to wait to save my allowance to get what I want.

Just when I thought my addiction was waning, Gymboree comes out with more new stuff! More!

A week in pictures

Have you seen my big girl moves?
Peak-a-boo! I see you, Daddy!

Mmm, this shoe sure is good.

Wait, what's this? This wasn't here before.

Do you think this is funny?

I'll show him!
