Tricks

Leah is always learning new things to do. She can wave bye-bye, give kisses, clap, play peek-a-boo, and a few other things. She is becoming quite the entertainer. The other night at dinner Joe and I were watching her and caught a new trick. Leah was taking her crackers off her tray and neatly placing them in her seat. And all this time we thought they ended up there because she was missing her mouth...

(I'll post pictures from last week when I get them off the camera)

Carb Baby

This is what Leah is going to look like in 2 years - a carbohydrate. She loves them! We put her meal on her tray and she always goes for the carbs first. Pasta, crackers, bread, she loves them all.

Motherly Instincts

Ahh, come here baby.

Do you need a diaper change?

Leah demonstrated her superb motherly instincts with her baby doll this weekend. She smiles at the doll and likes to give her kisses. It is funny to watch her when I play with it.

When I opened the Cabbage Patch Doll box, I didn't expect the rush of memories I would feel when the smell of the doll hit me. Which friend had the most dolls. Which ones had boy dolls because all mine were girls. Who had the newest kind. So many days were spent playing house in my basement or the neighbors'. Those were the days...

The froggy pool

The froggy pool means serious business.

The Anna face

Whenever Leah gets excited she lets out a series of O's and rocks back and forth or bounces. She started doing that as soon as I took this out of the box. Of course, she had no idea what it was but she knew it was something fun. Before I had it blown up she had already crawled into it. She had a good time and it will be great to have the froggy pool all summer.

Here is a picture of her two teeth, if you click on it it should open to a larger picture.

I hope everyone has a great week!

My take on parenting

So much of parenting at this stage is centered around bodily functions. (Don't worry, this isn't another poop post.) Bibs & burp clothes & diaper changes, when was the last time they went, and on and on. You really don't think about how much you worry about these things until you're in the middle of it all.

Last week in a matter of 10 hours Leah peed and threw up on the carpet. I say threw up instead of spit up because I am pretty sure she lost half her bottle.

This week - I think we've established that Leah has my gag reflex.

What does next week have in store for us?

Soooo Big!

As big as the Philly Fanatic

Where to start? Leah got a second tooth on Monday! She really likes table food and I am starting to adjust to her being a "big girl" eater and not a baby. She is more and more vocal everyday and you can tell she is ready to communicate with us. Joe took her to the doctor on Friday and he said she is doing really well.

Length - 28.5 inches, 82nd percentile
Weight - 17 lbs 5oz, 24th percentile

Joe's travel schedule should taper off now and I think the entire family is happy about that. Leah and I miss him when he's gone! We hope to tackles some home improvement projects while the weather is nice. Painting is at the top of the list.

As for me, things are about the same. I do my best to stay on top of my scrapbooking and that makes me happy. Work is ok and I try to stay busy there.

Things that melt my heart

Last night when I was giving Leah her bath, she took one of her foam letters and ran it along the top of the tub, like you would a toy car. She is getting so big!

This morning she said ma! Just the syllable, but I'll take it!

Landscaping

Last weekend we took care of the mud patch. Take a look at our skills. A retaining border & three dahlias.

Leah says...

Mom & Dad need to get a real baby gate.

Ice cream is awesome!

9 months is the new 30
