Life is full of tough choices. This week, it is which pictures to order from Leah's school pictures. They all turned out so well. (Sorry they are so big!)

Easter
At church on Sunday, they taught Leah about Easter in her class.
Leah: Jesus was alive!
Me: Yes, he was alive just like you & me.
(Repeat 5 times)
Leah: He was alive and then he died.
Me: Yes, and then he went to heaven.
Leah: No, then he went to a parade.
Fast forward to tonight.
Leah: Jesus was alive.
Me: Yes... just like you and me.
Leah: Then they put him in a tube!
Me: Then they put him in a tomb.
Leah: No, a tube!

Cathing up

If you've talked to Leah recently, chances are she's told you about her dog & cats. She has 2 cats and one dog. They are all purple, and all named Petsy. They live outside of her purple house. She has a purple car, but the monkeys are cleaning the purple off of it right now.
Leah moved into her big girl bed, in her big girl room a few weeks ago. She's been doing pretty good. She handled the transition well but she knows she can get out of bed whenever she wants. We still need to add some finishing touches to her room but it will get there.
Four weeks ago Leah also started a tap class. She seems to like it and is very well behaved. They make the parents wait outside. Some of the girls in the class run around the whole time and don't seem to pay attention. Leah likes to get dressed up and hates to get her tap shoes dirty (even the bottoms).
I am about 5 and a half months pregnant now. I still have a lot of moments when my stomach doesn't sit well but overall I feel good - with the exception of my hip. Something didn't shift right this time and it is a chronic nuisance. Check ups are going well and I can feel the baby move on a pretty regular basis. We still haven't picked out a name, but I guess we still have some time left to figure that out.
I hope everyone is doing well. Have a great week!

Competitive Parenting
I almost fell into the trap. Back in January, Leah's daycare moved a bunch of kids in her room up to the older twos room. The new kids in her class seemed so young and I felt like Leah had lost her friends. I thought Leah was ready to move up, I really felt like she was being left behind.
Then, I had to stop myself. Leah was happy. We love her teachers, there is no guarantee that we would like her new teachers. And she wasn't two and a half yet, which is the age they move kids up to the older twos room. Leah was fine!!
Last week they started transitioning Leah to the older twos room (she was two and a half on March 7th). She likes her new room and they say she is adjusting well. She is moving up with another boy, who does not like the transition at all from what they say. Her new teachers seem nice, but we still need to get to know them better.
We have had a lot going on. I'll write more about it later, and post pictures. I've been having some problems with getting the pictures off my camera.

It finally happened.
About two months ago we took the front off Leah's crib. She had not climbed out of her crib yet, or even tried, but we felt it was time. It wasn't until about 2 weeks ago that Leah figured out she could get out on her own when she woke up.
Joe was out of town this week. Wednesday night at 2AM I heard Leah having trouble sleeping, talking in her sleep & what not. About an hour later I heard her again. Then foot steps. Then I heard her door slam open and saw her dart past my bedroom door. I jumped up, thinking something might be wrong.
"I'm awake. I want to go down stairs."
So, she knows she can get out of bed whenever she wants now.

The ultrasound we had on Monday was so much different than the one we had with Leah. At Leah's, the technician only turned her monitor around a few times and let us see her for a couple of seconds. It was great and we were excited to see her, but we only got a peak.
This time, at my new doctor's office, they have a big flat screen TV on the wall so you get to watch the entire ultrasound. The technician went through all of her measurements and told us what she was looking for and that the baby is measuring correctly or that she saw what she was looking for. I was surprised how thorough they are. They look at everything, from the heart to the lips, she measured the femurs to make sure the baby is the right length. They cover every detail.
Leah has been fun, as usual. When we mention she's going to have a baby brother her response is usually, "I'm going to have a baby sister like Elaine." We've been trying to explain she's going to have a baby brother like Cooper or our friend's baby Henry. We have time to work on that though.
We've started work on Leah's big girl room. Her furniture was delivered on Saturday and we plan to paint next weekend. I think she's had the most fun playing with her new dresser, her animals take "naps" in the drawers.
